Genesis 6-8:19

1. Genesis 6:1 – 3  As the human population increased there occurred marriages between ‘sons of God’ and daughters of humans causing God to begin loosing patience ending with God declaring a limit on how long man will live.

2. Genesis 6:4 – 8 The Lord saw that wickedness and evil was becoming rampant so God decided to wipe the human race from the face of the earth, but leave a remnant as Noah found favor in God’s eyes.

3. Genesis 6:9 – 10 Noah was counted righteous in God’s eyes and along with his sons and their wives would be the remnant saved.

4. Genesis 6:11 – 16 Seeing the corruption on the earth God provide Noah with foreknowledge of the coming destruction, commands and plans to build the ark.

5. Genesis 6:17 – 21 God gives direction for saving the remnant upon the ark of animals and family.

6. Genesis 6:22 And Noah did all that God commanded

7. Genesis 7:1 – 16 God commands Noah regarding loading family and animals on the ark, which Noah obeys ending in God closing the door of the ark.

8. Genesis 7:17 – 24 The rain came for 40 days, the floodwaters came, the springs burst covering and flooding everything for a150 days, wiping out people and animals on the earth

9. Genesis 8:1 - 5 God’s plan for wiping out the unrighteous is completed and the waters stop and the ark comes to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

10. Genesis 8:6 – 12 Noah chronicles his tests to see when it might be safe to leave the ark after the waters recede.

11. Genesis 8:13 – 19 Noah see that the earth is once again dry but waits for God to tell him that it is time to leave the ark, to which they obeys coming out into the world.
